Tan Tan’s police services arrested four individuals on Monday over suspicion of involvement in organizing illegal migration and human trafficking, said a security source.
Two of those detained hail from sub-Saharan African countries.
The source added that the suspects were apprehended red-handed in Tan Tan while preparing for their illicit crossing operation through maritime routes. A search for the suspects’ names in the National Security database revealed that one of them is subject to national search warrants for similar crimes.
The suspects were remanded into police custody pending further investigation by the public prosecutor’s office.
