Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF)’s head Fouzi Lekjaa revealed the new Women’s National Team Coach Jorge Vilda Rodriguez as its roadmap for success on Sunday at Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat during his presentation.
Lekjaa stated that Moroccan women’s football should take notice of its achievements, while at the same time brace for new challenges, such as qualification for the next Olympic Games.
Jorge Vilda Rodriguez won the most recently held Women’s World Cup with the Spanish team, as it defeated England 1-0 in the Australia-New Zealand venue.
The Spanish national coach signed on with Morocco for four years in a project that he described as “very ambitious and very attractive.” He added that Morocco has great “potential” and has “brave, bold and intelligent” players.
He commented that the facilities presented by FRMF to help empower and improve the level of play are huge, and that such infrastructure matches with his ambitions to lead the team.
The new coach highlighted that there is a lot of potential in Morocco’s team, that the players are brave, bold, intelligent, and that they can provide an entertaining game that will energize everyone involved.
Vilda mentioned that qualifying for the Olympic Games, the Africa Cup, and participating again in the next World Cup are the objectives of a work in progress.
