First findings from Aterian plc’s “Tata” copper project in the Anti-Atlas mountains seems positive, sampling reports up to 7.02 % Cu, revealed the British minerals and metals exploration and development company in a press release on Monday.
Aterian’s 154.4 km2 Tata Copper project is located 30 km south of the Azrar copper-silver project in central Morocco, also owned by the company.
“These new results from the Tata Project are extremely encouraging, with a substantial target area remaining unexplored,” Aterian Chairman Charles Bray stated. “The sedimentary-hosted copper potential on this project is highly significant and demonstrates the scale opportunity in Morocco.” He added that Tata has the potential to “deliver tremendous value to the Company, its shareholders and other stakeholders.”
The total length of visible copper mineralization is more than 18 kilometers, according to Aterian, with a strike length of c.26 km. Although the prospective Adoudou Formation remains untested, there is at least a further 9 km within the lower Cambrian Tata Group sediments that is promising.
The Tata project consists of ten license blocks connected by paved roads and a network of tiny airstrips. It is one of 17 copper, silver, and base metal mines held by Aterian that span 897 km2 in Morocco’s mining regions.
