The PJD Party called, in a release published on Wednesday, to consider the Israeli Ambassador to Rabat David Govrin as “Persona Non Grata” following his statement calling Hamas “terrorists” in light of the escalation between Hamas and Israel commencing Saturday morning.
The PJD release added that the ambassador brutally attacked the Palestinian Resistance movement, and noted that he holds it responsible for the massacre and violations of Palestinian civilians taking place in the occupied territory of Palestine.
Govrin promised, from Rabat, that his country will target civilian gatherings—particularly housing—thus effectively constituting human shields at the behest of the international community, irrespective of Morocco’s steadfast position from the conflict.
The ambassador said that Hamas “bears full responsibility for this criminal attack” and for the deterioration of the region’s security.
Govrin stated that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) will take all necessary measures to respond vigorously to this “heinous act of terrorism.” Hamas took at least 150 hostages, including children, who are being held in Gaza.
On Sunday, Israel officially declared war against “terrorist” organizations in Gaza, primarily Hamas, and the ambassador said that the nation is prepared for a “sustained and severe military response” to eliminate any threat posed by these organizations in the region.
Gaza’s 2.3 million residents are now under complete siege, with Israel having cut off water, food, fuel, and electricity to the territory. Internet access in the Gaza Strip has been severely affected by power cuts and infrastructure damage.
Meanwhile, in a twist of irony, it was actually the PJD–headed at that time by former chief of government Saâd Eddine El Othmani–which was the political party to sign off on the Abraham Accords on December 22, 2020, and to officially resume ties with the Jewish-majority nation.
