National Police (DGSN) has deployed over 6,500 police officers to ensure security and safety measures for the IMF-WB Annual Meetings scheduled in Marrakech from Oct. 9-15, given the magnitude of the meetings and influx of many thousands of people into the ochre city.
In accordance with international security standards, the security protocol meticulously outlined the safety measures for Marrakech, including at the “Bab Ighli” site where the meetings are taking place and other important locations linked to the event.
Police units, teams, and vehicles are operationally spread out, with security chiefs appointed to each district. A wireless communication network has been implemented to allow all units to communicate directly and instantaneously. The security forces are operating on an in-depth calendar of events, from the start of the meetings today to the end on October 15 and the departure of the participants.
The Police, a Rapid Intervention Group, the Motorcycle Brigade, the Mounted Police, and Police Dog Units have all been deployed for this large city-wide security operation.
