A team of students in the GFCF Master’s Program of the School of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences Agdal at the Mohammed V University in Rabat (UM5) will represent Morocco at the Injaz Arab competition of countries from the MENA region scheduled to take place in Qatar.
The team project known as “REBRICK” is a start-up offering an innovative solution to two major problems: managing textile waste and improving the energy efficiency of buildings.
The project aims to transform textile waste into ecological and decorative insulating bricks, helping to reduce waste, preserve natural resources, reduce carbon footprints and improve the thermal performance of buildings.
After winning the regional prize, the team went on to win the Injaz Al-Maghrib national competition in 2023 thanks to their innovative and environmentally friendly project, according to a press release from UM5.
Acting President of the Mohammed V University in Rabat and Dean of the School of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences-Adgal Farid El Bacha congratulated the Moroccan team on the results achieved at national level with Injaz Al Maghrib, praising the efforts made by the teaching and administrative staff to ensure a valuable and high-quality training program.
INJAZ Al-Arab is a federation of 14 Arab countries in the MENA region that collaborates with the private sector to give business training and mentorship to young people throughout the Middle East and North Africa, empowering a generation of Arab youth to drive the Arab world’s economic development. Morocco has been a member of Injaz Al-Arab since 2007.
