The National Police (DGSN) has deployed mobile units this week for the operation of registration and renewal of electronic national identity cards for the benefit of earthquake victims in various villages surrounding the cities of Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Beni Mellal, and Chichaoua, announced a press release by the DGSN.
The operation’s objective is to collect basic identifying data from earthquake-affected regions in order to speed up the renewal and issuing of national identity cards for residents who lost their personal documents due to home loss, especially for accessing state public services, added the same source.
Police teams have been assigned to assist citizens during the registration process, ensuring a human touch. All necessary resources–including on-site photography teams and exceptional accommodations–have been provided to facilitate the registration process.
The DGSN is implementing a service-oriented operation to aid in the recovery of earthquake-affected regions by providing resources and security services to assist in the reconstruction and restoration of communities, thus lessening the typical, often-burdensome bureaucratic procedures in such a time of loss and stress.
