The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have deployed two additional field hospitals in the rural communes of Mejjat (province of Chichaoua) and Ighrem (province of Taroudant), pursuant to the instructions of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of FAR General Staff.
The two mobile hospital units will contribute to relief efforts in the earthquake struck areas, by offering on-site medical attention to the victims and stabilizing them before their transfer to more permanent facilities. Their establishment coincides with the nearing of the winter season.
The two field hospitals are an addition to the initial multidisciplinary hospitals built in the districts of Asni (Marrakech) and Tafingoult (Taroudant) right after the earthquake, bringing the number to four. These hospitals have performed 121 surgeries and offered over 25,000 specialized treatments for patients.
The military medical personnel dispensed almost a hundred of medical services via Telemedicine, which proved efficient in providing prompt and professional medical care to remote, isolated zones.
