The Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced on its website on Monday that the Morocco v. Liberia men’s qualifying match for the African Cup of Nations 2023 has been rescheduled for October 17, and will take place at the Grande State d’Agadir.
This match, which was scheduled to take place on September 9 in Agadir for the last day of the CAN qualifiers (Group K), was rescheduled due to the earthquake that hit Morocco.
The Atlas Lion will also play a friendly game against the Ivory Coast team on October 14 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Following a 2-2 draw in Group K between South Africa and Liberia in March, the Moroccan team officially qualified for the CAN-2023 championships.
The Moroccan men’s team had previously defeated South Africa (2-1) and Liberia (2-0) in Group K, which consists of only 3 teams, because of FIFA’s suspension of all national and club teams playing internationally, including women’s and youth teams, in February 2022 over “government interference” in the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).
