Members of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have completed two weeks of training on the Joint Theater Level Simulation – Global Operations (JTLS-GO) supervised by the company Valkyrie.
The program’s website describes JTLS-GO is an interactive, internet-based simulation that offers a comprehensive representation of multi-sided civil-military operations involving air, ground, and naval forces, with logistical, Special Operation Force (SOF), and intelligence support.
The development of JTLS-GO began in 1983 with funding from the U.S. Readiness Command, the U.S. Army Concepts Analysis Agency, and the U.S. Army War College. Originally, it was created to aid in the development and analysis of joint and combined operations plans.
The main objective of the JTLS-GO system is to simulate conventional joint and combined operations at the Operational Level of War, as defined by the Universal Joint Task List of the Joint Staff. The simulation explicitly models air, land, sea, amphibious, and SOF operations.
JTLS-GO is capable of supporting a wide range of scenarios, including low-intensity conflicts, pre-conflict operations, and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief efforts.
