Morocco’s men’s national football team has returned to the 13th place, with a total of 1658.32 points, according to the latest men’s world rankings released by International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) on Thursday.
In the last release of rankings in July 2023, Morocco was ranked 14th with 1655.5 points. After their historic FIFA World Cup performance, Morocco was ranked as high as 11th place.
Argentina remained at the top of the FIFA rankings, reinforcing their standing as a football force. France and Brazil fill out the top three, with England, Belgium, Croatia, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, and Spain rounding out the top 10.
Morocco’s strong international record, which includes wins in the December 2022 World Cup against Spain, Portugal, and Belgium, has solidified the country’s position. Despite losing 2-0 to France, their World Cup performance served as an inspiration to African and Arab football nations.
Atlas Lions remained Africa’s premier team, with Senegal close behind in 20th place. Morocco is also the top team in the Arab world, with Tunisia ranking second in 29th place overall.
