Several major Canadian telecommunications companies announced that they are helping their customers stay connected with loved ones in Morocco by enabling free phone calls, texting, and roaming.
Telus and Koodo are waiving long distance mobile, landline, texting, and roaming fees for customers calling Morocco until September 30, 2023.
Telus has also set up a text donation line for the Telus Friendly Future Foundation to support earthquake relief efforts. Customers can text DONATE to 41010.
Carriers Rogers, Fido, and Chatr responded by waiving charges associated with SMS and long-distance calls until September 19. Bell is waiving fees on texts and long-distance calls through landlines and post-paid mobile services, and this offer will also expire September 19.
Finally, Cogeco announced that all long-distance fees for calls to Morocco would be waived.
