Moroccan police arrested 17 individuals in a successful anti-human-trafficking operation carried out in Al Hoceima (north of Morocco) on Wednesday morning, as they attempted to cross the Mediterranean.
Police seized inflatable boats, six fuel containers, engine oil, and three air pumps.
Territorial Surveillance services (DGST) led the operation and shared data with Al Hoceima’s police.
The 17 men were remanded into police custody pending further investigation by the public prosecutor’s office.
