The National Police (DGSN) and Territorial Surveillance Services (DGST), led by their head Abdelatif Hammouchi, have jointly contributed 50 million DH to the special earthquake relief fund.
Morocco’s Central Bank, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), initiated a call for donations on Sunday, to support the Special Fund for assisting those affected by the magnitude 7 earthquake that hit the Kingdom of Morocco last Friday.
In a statement released on Monday, these two institutions announced their donation, acting on behalf of all their employees. This initiative reflects the commitment of the security forces in support of the national solidarity campaign.
In a similar initiative, Hammouchi called upon all security forces in the country to participate in a large-scale blood drive within their professional community.
The police quickly responded to the call for blood donations, showing solidarity with the victims and those affected by the earthquake that struck several cities in Morocco.
To assess the current situation and monitor the latest developments, Abdellatif Hammouchi, accompanied by a team of experts, conducted a field visit to Marrakech, one of the cities severely affected by the earthquake, on Sunday to evaluate the damage and coordinate relief efforts.
He traveled through different regions of Al Haouz, which were particularly impacted, to assess the extent of the damage and identify the most urgent needs. Several police units and patrols were also mobilized at the same time.
