A 4.5-magnitude tremor was felt Sunday morning (at 9.00 a.m.), 80 km southwest of Marrakech, The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Observatory Center (EMCS) has announced.
The tremor took place at a depth of 10km.
This is the strongest recorded aftershock since a deadly 7-magnitude earthquake hit Morocco Friday night.
Seismologists explain that ongoing aftershocks after a powerful earthquake are common and expected, especially in the area of the main shock.
The latest quake death toll stands at 2,012. The number of the wounded is 2,059, including 1,404 gravely.
Morocco declared on Saturday three days of official mourning with flags at half-mast.
