Morocco ranked first in Africa and fourth in the Arab world on the US News and World Reports’ Quality of Life ranking released this month.
The country was ranked #48 in Quality of Life in the world, and #40 in Best Countries Overall, down from #38 in 2021.
The Quality of Life sub-ranking is part of the overall Best Countries Ranking and based on “an equally weighted average of scores from nine attributes” including affordability, job market, economic stability, family friendliness, income equality, political stability, safety, development of the public health system, and development of the public education system.
Morocco scored particularly well in the “Affordable” category.
The United Arab Emirates finished first in the Arab World (26th), followed by Qatar (27th), and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia finished third (30th), followed by Morocco.
Morocco was first among the African countries, followed by Egypt (52nd) and South Africa (55th).
