The Moroccan women’s, under-21 (U21), beach volleyball team won the African championship, defeating the Nigerian team in the final held on Wednesday in Casablanca.
The Moroccan team, consisting of sisters Aida and Carmen Mzouak, emerged victorious in a thrilling match, winning two sets to one (13-21, 21-15, and 18-16).
Nigeria secured the silver medal, while Gambia, finishing in third place, took home the bronze.
The Moroccan B team, composed of Imane Fakhr and Fatima Zahra Bouissfi, finished in fourth place after losing to Gambia (23-25, 20-22).
The Moroccan women’s U21 team had already secured their qualification for the beach volleyball World Championship, scheduled to take place next year in Thailand, following their victory in the quarterfinals against Egypt.
