Meknes policemen Arrested, on Wednesday, a Moroccan national residing in France for voluntary manslaughter and an alleged threat to commit the same crime in Morocco.
The arrest was made based on an international Interpol warrant under a red notice, issued by France, as well as on data from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) data.
The red notice was issued by French judicial authorities for the suspect’s involvement in an offense committed on August 20. Investigation also revealed that the accused was involved in death threats against his wife and children residing abroad, who are currently in Morocco under police protection.
The suspect is in police custody pending further investigations. The arrest was made as part of increased international security cooperation between Moroccan security services and those of other nations, to better deal with transnational crime.
