Upper House Speaker Enaam Mayara is scheduled to pay an official visit to Israel on September 7 at the invitation of Speaker of the Israeli Knesset Amir Ohna, according to a House press release.
This visit will coincide with the participation of a delegation from the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, whose mission is to explore ways for strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two legislative bodies, as well as to examine a spectrum of subjects and matters of shared concern.
Mayara is expected also to lead an official delegation of parliament members to Jordan on September 1-4 upon the invitation of Faysal Akef Al Fayez, the President of the Jordanian Senate, as well as to the Middle East region.
Coinciding with the 50th meeting of the Bureau of the Middle East regional parliamentary organization, the program for the visit, which runs from September 5 to 8, includes on-site visits, meetings with UN officials, and talks with parliamentary and government officials in Amman, Ramallah, and Al Quds.
Mayara is expected to reiterate Morocco’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, as well as the Kingdom’s rejection of violations of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish an independent state, with East Al-Quds as its capital.
The press release concludes that this initiative aligns with the mutual desire to reinforce the Morocco-U.S.A.-Israel trilateral agreement signed in December 2020, as well as bilateral relations between the parliamentary institutions of Morocco and Israel.
