The Moroccan women’s national football team moved up 14 spots on the FIFA Women’s Ranking, from 72nd to 58th, between the July and August rankings.
This leap is thanks to their qualification for the round of 16 in the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Among African women’s teams, the Atlas Lionesses rank fourth with 1438.3 points, after Nigeria (32nd), South Africa (45th), and Cameroon (56th).
The team was placed second in its group before both South Korea and Germany after a demoralizing 6-0 loss to Germany in the first game.
For the global leaders in women’s football, Sweden leads the way ahead of Spain (2nd), the USA (3rd), England (4th) and France (5th).
