On Wednesday, police in Marrakech arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of the possession and trafficking of drugs. A security source elaborated that the day before, police also caught a 26-year-old suspect in possession of 10,000 pills intended for weight gain, and that continued investigation had led also to the arrest of the supplier of these pills in Casablanca.
Police seized, in a store run by the suspect in Casablanca, an additional shipment of 62,680 pills, bringing the total seized to 72,680 smuggled pills.
The cyber surveillance cell, under police services, had earlier detected some ads offering for sale weight gain pills.
Samples of the pills seized were taken to the Laboratory of the Scientific and Technical Police to be examined and the suspects will be remanded in custody until the investigation under the public prosecutor’s office is completed.
