Police and customs services thwarted an attempt, on Tuesday at Tangier Med Port (North), to smuggle 350 kg of cannabis resin (locally known as Chira). A Morocco-registered truck for goods international transportation was used in the illicit trafficking operation.
The illegal substance was hidden inside the vehicle’s iron structure, said a statement by the national police DGSN.
The driver, a Moroccan national aged 33, was remanded in police custody pending further investigations, under the supervision of the public prosecution.
