Fez police arrested a 32-year-old French national residing illegally in Morocco on Monday, executing an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.
The man, whose identity has not yet been released, is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice issued by France over suspicion of his involvement in a drug trafficking case, according to a security source.
The suspect was remanded into police custody pending further investigation, under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
Moroccan authorities notified the corresponding French authorities of his detention, and it is expected that the suspect will be deported to France to face charges.
