Spain Wins Women’s WC Title

Against all odds, Spain made history on Sunday by winning the Women’s World Cup for the first time, defeating the reigning English champions (1-0) in the grand final in Sydney.
Captain Olga Carmona’s goal was enough to compensate for Jennifer Hermoso’s missed shot and secure victory.
The Spanish players celebrated by forming a giant red heap in the stadium, while the English players were in tears after Spain dashed their hopes of becoming World Cup 2023 Champions.
