The Turkish authorities arrested on Monday Mohamed Atitich, a member of the banned movement Al-Adl Wa al-Ihsan (Justice and Spirituality), immediately after his arrival at Antalya Airport with his wife, child, and mother.
The Moroccan Human Rights Space, a non-governmental organization, posted on its Facebook account that Atitich was apprehended without any cause or charges.
The NGO wrote that Atitich had previously visited Turkey multiple times and had never been subject to prosecution or arrest, neither in Morocco nor in any other country.
Atitich said in an audio recording posted by the Moroccan Human Rights Space, that he is still in the custody of Turkish authorities at Antalya Airport, and that he has been told that he will be deported to Casablanca on a direct Turkish Airlines flight.
