Sidi Abed Beach will be transformed once again into a huge cinema as it plays host to Harhoura’s Ciné Beach Festival. The festival is back for its 5th edition after a three-year hiatus, and will run from August 26 to 31.
This year’s edition is dedicated to three figures from Moroccan cinema: actress Raouya, actors Mohamed Miftah and Rafik Boubker, as well as various figures from African cinema.
According to the festival’s organizers, the idyllic setting of the beach creates a warm and friendly atmosphere to celebrate cinematic creation. They also indicate that this iteration will feature a competition highlighting seven films, including “Annatto” by director Fatima Boubakdy, “Sahari” by Moulay Taieb Bouhanana, “Last Round” by Mohamed Fekrane, and Jrada Malha” by Driss Roukhe.
The festival will also offer a diverse program of activities including master classes, screenplay workshops, and debates led by filmmakers.
The festival is organized by the Moroccan Association of Art without Borders (AMAF), in partnership with the Commune of Harhoura and the Moroccan Center of Cinematography (CCM).
