A video went viral on social media capturing a man sexually assaulting a minor boy on the beach of El Jadida. The pedophile reportedly is the head of a sports association that runs a summer camp for children.
In the wake of the appalling video, the “Don’t touch my child” association strongly condemned the incident in a statement, asserting that justice must prevail, and vowing to take all necessary measures to ensure the perpetrator is held accountable for his actions.
Additionally, the association said that it will contact the sports association and anyone else concerned to comprehensively address this incident, highlighting the evolving strategies used by pedophiles to prey upon innocent children.
The association also called upon civil society actors to join forces and hold a forum to combat pedophilia, especially in sports associations and other organizations that deal with children.
The Moroccan Association for Victim’s Rights also denounced the sexual assault, saying it supports the children and their families.
The association emphasized the necessity of providing social support and psychological treatment for victims, calling for the implementation of the toughest penalties against perpetrators of sexual assaults, without any mitigating conditions.
The suspect is now in police custody subject to an investigation, under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
