Casablanca’s Police Services arrested a 40-year-old Bulgarian citizen on Saturday at Mohammed V International Airport pursuant to an international arrest warrant issued by Spanish authorities.
Interpol had issued a red notice against the person whose identity has not yet been released for hacking bank data and using it fraudulently.
The suspect was apprehended as he was preparing to board a plane headed to an Arab country.
He was remanded into police custody to complete an investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office. Moroccan authorities notified the competent Spanish authorities of his arrest pending extradition.
