A clash between two gangs involved in drug trafficking and smuggling in Tindouf camp caused material damage to a car and property, the Forsatin Forum reported on Saturday.
Such armed conflicts are no news to the camps’ dwellers who have to bear the insecure environment, in addition to other forms of repression by the polisario militia.
The chaotic situation inside the camps is worsening with the thriving of corruption, and the implication of Polisario leaders in illicit activities as drug smuggling.
Physical assault, kidnapping and rape are routine practices in these anarchic camps, according to the local rights watchdog.
Even shepherds got their share of injustice as some militiamen confiscated their animals and used a police vehicle to carry them away.
