Russia delivered consignments of pharmaceutical products to Africa worth over $62 Mln in 2022, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Ekaterina Priezzheva told TASS on Tuesday. Morocco is among the top 5 biggest importers.
Priezzheva named Congo, Algeria, Morocco, Niger, and Uganda as the principal African destinations for the majority of Russian pharmaceuticals.
The African market received a wide range of antibiotics, and immunological and antiviral medicines, she stated, stressing that the Russian-made yellow fever vaccine is in great supply for the benefit of the continent.
The Minister underlined commitment not only to selling medications but also to sharing technologies and aiding partners to establish manufacturing facilities.
“We do have much to offer. What is important, we are ready to not merely offer supplies of ready-made medicines but also intend to share technologies with our partners, provide for their transfer and open production facilities there,” she added.
