The Moroccan Directorate for Territory Surveillance (DGST) and the Spanish Civil Guard joined forces and smashed a ring run by cyber Jihadist recruiters targeting minors and young people, according to Spain’s RTVE.
The collaboration culminated in the arrest of two individuals – a Moroccan and a Spaniard- in Zamora and Valencia, on Aug. 1-2. Detailed intelligence by the DGST helped identify and neutralize the suspects.
The culprits were brought to justice on Friday and will remain in police custody until the completion of the investigation. They will be standing trial over the charges of terrorism, indoctrination and jihadist recruitment.
The detainees had previously posted terror-related content, inviting and preying on the most vulnerable youths.
