Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses are planning to keep alive the FIFA Women’s World Cup dream when they face France in the tournament’s knockouts on Tuesday, highlighted CAF Women’s Football.
The same source said this year Moroccans, men and women, are doing marvels in Football World Cups. The women’s team withstood the hard defeat against Germany (6-0), and qualified to the round of 16 after two wins against Colombia and South Korea.
Morocco is not the only African country that qualified to the second stage, South Africa and Nigeria did great too, according to CAF Women’s Football.
Morocco became the first African country to win two successive matches in the tournament.
France remained scoreless against Jamaica in its first encounter before pulling off one of the tournament’s biggest surprises, a 2-1 victory against Brazil, then beating Panama 6-3.
Hopes are pinned on Coach Reynald Pedros to identify weaknesses of the French team, on the back of his tactical acumen that masterminded the two previous historic victories.
