Russia’s President Vladimir Putin declared, in a Cabinet meeting, that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is drafting accords on a free trade zone with Morocco, reported Russian agency TASS.
Alongside Morocco, the agreements will include other North African countries as Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia.
Putin stated that the political trust between these countries and the Russian Federation should be transformed into economic cooperation.
He added that: “They feel Russia is a friend, and we also treat African countries as friends”.
The Russian head predicted that Africa will develop in “a positive direction and will catch up on what it missed out in past decades.”
“Therefore, we should take a comprehensive approach to these issues,” the president concluded.
