Morocco stood at the victory podium in the ongoing 9th Francophone Games, held in Kinshasa (DRC), between July 28 and August 6. The North African Kingdom won 23 medals, including 9 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze.
Morocco is represented in several sporting events for both genders.
Romania ranks second with 17 medals, followed by Cameroun with 16.
In athletics, Moroccans amassed 16 medals (5 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze), with women getting the lion’s share (13 medals).
In road cycling, the Kingdom obtained 5 medals (2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze).
The Moroccan team got a gold medal in wrestling, and a similar one in mixed competition.
The Francophone Games brings together almost 2,500 athletes, aged between 18 and 35, from 88 countries.
