Minister of Economic Affairs Wille Rydman (far-right) wrote in old messages to his ex-girlfriend that he would rather ban people from wearing headscarves, described people from the Middle East as “desert monkeys,” reported Euronews quoting Helsingin Sanomat newspaper.
The texts date back to 2016 when Rydman was a 30-year-old member of parliament, a member of the Constitutional Law Committee and the Administrative Committee, and a Helsinki city councilor.
Rydman made the comment that Somalis breed like weeds, and sent the lyrics of a song purportedly written by another Finns Party MP about a Muslim who fled his homeland and raped a lady. Rydman advised his then girlfriend that college gatherings are the perfect setting for singing the song.
“Even if I bred with a pitch black Nigerian negro, the child would still have a 26% chance of having green eyes”, said Rydman musing about his hereditary dark brown eyes.
The old messages were presumably private, but the editor-in-chief of Helsingin Sanomat newspaper decided to publish them as they are a matter of public opinion.
