King Mohammed VI’s speech to the nation on the occasion of the twenty-fourth anniversary of his accession to the throne confirms the distinguished and historical relationship between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Palestine, said Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh Sunday in Ramallah.
In a speech during a ceremony organized by the Kingdom’s embassy in Palestine, Shtayyeh added that Palestine appreciates what the king affirmed in his speech in terms of support for the Palestinian cause, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al Quds as its capital.
The Palestinian Prime Minister pointed out that this stance embodies the strong solidarity between the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples, their commitment to adress the main priorities of Palestine as a nation, and their distinguished, historical relationship.
“Morocco was an important partner in supporting the Palestinians in the city of Al Quds and providing them with assistance in facing existing challenges, and this reflects Morocco’s full solidarity and its interest in supporting Al Quds inhabitants,” added the Palestinian official, who explained that there are numerous joint programs between the two peoples.
The Prime Minister also congratulated the Moroccan people on behalf of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Council of Ministers on the occasion of Throne Day, wishing health and wellness to the King, and continued progress and prosperity to the Moroccan people.
King Mohammed VI affirmed, Saturday–in his Throne Speech–Morocco’s firm position regarding the justice of the Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Al Quds as its capital, and its commitment to ensure the security and stability for all inhabitants of the region.
