About 20,000 individuals attended visual art displays as part of the “Nostalgia, Emotion of yesteryear” event, which took place from July 21 to 27 at the Chellah archaeological site in Rabat, according to the Ministry of Culture.
The idea behind the exhibit is to commemorate Morocco’s archaeological sites, through a staging which accurately evokes the various past civilizations that invested in the Chellah site, such as the Roman, Marinid, and Saadian dynasties, notes the same source.
The Chellah archaeological site is one of the most important historical locations in the capital, Rabat. Built in the sixth or seventh century B.C., the site’s magic and ancestral architecture transport visitors to several eras in the Kingdom’s history.
In the near future, the Ministry plans to hold similar events at other archaeological sites in the country.
