On Sunday, a road accident on National Route No. 29 between Boulemane and Midelt in the rural commune of Enjil’s “Taourda” caused the death of an 11-year-old girl, along with 19 injuries, six of which were critical.
The accident occurred when a school transport vehicle belonging to the rural commune of Aït Yaacoub in the Province of Midelt overturned, according to local authorities in the Province of Boulemane. The vehicle was carrying 16 children and three accompanying adults, in addition to the driver.
The passengers were returning from Boulemane to Midelt after spending time at a permanent summer camp at the Boulemane educational complex, under the supervision of the Provincial Directorate of Youth, Culture and Communication – Youth Department.
The local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection services rushed to the scene as soon as they were informed of the accident, where the injured were taken to the Boulemane Urban Health Center for treatment.
The Royal Gendarmerie opened an investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecution to elucidate the circumstances of this incident.
