A 14-agreement public-private partnership was concluded Tuesday in Rabat to boost research and development (R&D) and industrial innovation projects.
The signatories are Minister of Industry Ryad Mezzour, President of employers’ body (CGEM) Chakib Alj, Managing Director of MarocPME Brahim Arjdal and the project holders themselves.
The collaboration is part of the Industrial Innovation Support Program, funded by Morocco’s Innovation Support Fund.
The projects, totaling 50 Mln MAD, with a contribution of 56% by the ISF, were picked as the best industrial R&D and innovation initiatives eligible for state support for the year 2023.
“The contracts we are signing today are a prelude to an ambitious program that would bolster our national innovation ecosystem and help our industry professionals unleash their potential and strengthen their competitiveness,” said Mezzour, stressing the significance of R&D and innovation as vital levers for industrial development and creative entrepreneurship.
The state is allotting 300 Mln MAD per year, over 2023-2025, for funding 100 eligible projects in industrial sectors and technology chains, such as agrifood, mining, electronics, artificial intelligence, medical devices, and waste treatment.
