All of his conservative domestic allies recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over Sahara, wrote British Outlet “Express” on Tuesday, adding that additionally, from a global perspective, the U.S. did it in 2020 with the signature of Abraham Accords, and now Israel concurred last Monday.
Many members of his Conservative political party–known colloquially as the Tories–urge the reorientation of British foreign policy so as to align with the unconditional embrace of Israel’s own multilateral conduct, even going so far as introducing legislation to ban the much-discussed BDS boycott of Israeli-produced goods and services in response to the atrocities for which it is responsible in Palestine, and far away from EU tenets in the aftermath of Brexit.
A Conservative MP stated to Express, “Really, this is exactly where we should be looking at our Brexit freedoms and reframing our foreign policy.”
Furthermore, Tory peer Baron Polak, honorary head of Conservative Allies of Israel, declared, “It is a good thing that Israel has recognized Moroccan sovereignty in the Sahara region,” adding that Morocco had made significant progress economically speaking thanks to investments.
