London-based company Henley & Partners has ranked the Moroccan passport as the 73rd most powerful worldwide, according to its Q3-2023 « Henley Passport Index.” The Moroccan passport provides its holders visa-free access to 67 countries.
The green passport climbed up seven spots in six months, from 80th to 73rd, according to the report issued on July 18th.
The Henley Passport Index Q3 2023 Global Ranking update unveiled a significant shift at the top of the ranking.
Japan has dropped from the top spot on the Henley Passport Index for the first time in five years, moving into 3rd place.
Singapore’s passport is currently the most powerful in the world, granting citizens access to 192 visa-free destinations.
Germany, Italy, and Spain all rank second with 190 destinations, followed by Austria, Finland, France, Japan, Luxembourg, South Korea, and Sweden, whose passport grants visa-free travel to 189 countries.
Using statistics from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Henley Passport Index ranks 199 worldwide passports. It is constantly updated in real time throughout the year, updating with each visa regulation change that takes effect.
