Moroccan women footballers Imane Saoud and Elodie Nakkach took part in Adidas’s new campaign dedicated to celebrating the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
“Through its most influential Women’s World Cup campaign to date, the company brings together its global family of soccer legends and supporters of women’s football. Through a series of fast-paced films, the campaign welcomes an elite group of superstars such as David Beckham, Leon Goretzka, Ian Wright, actress and football fan Jenna Ortega, as well as Argentina’s world champion Lionel Messi,” says an Adidas press release.
The films are part of Adidas’ concept for the upcoming competition. The “Play Until They Can’t Look Away” film seeks to highlight the world’s top female footballers, who deserve the world’s attention and support thanks to their incredible talent and devotion to the game.
The Moroccan superstars Imane Saoud and Elodie Nakkach are shown catching the attention of fans in the streets of Morocco with their thrilling match, showcasing their unique technical skills as they seamlessly dribble the ball amongst themselves.
As Saoud and Nakkach stroll through the streets, their breathtaking display catches the eye of Azzedine Ounahi. Nakkach takes an opportunistic shot, strikes the ball with power and precision, and proceeds to send the ball fluidly into the traditional carpet which represents the goal, thus forcefully tearing it apart, leaving Ounahi stunned and speechless.
“Tournaments like the World Cup represent opportunities to raise awareness and inspire young women to embrace the sport. This campaign vividly shows the excitement in the world of soccer and how anyone can enjoy it anywhere, anytime,” said Imane Saoud, regarding her participation in the campaign.
“As an Adidas athlete, I am grateful to be part of a brand that recognizes and celebrates the skill, talent and passion of female players. We break barriers and inspire future generations to play with breathtaking finesse, leaving an indelible mark on the game. I’m so excited for the next Women’s World Cup, where players from all over the world will come together to showcase their talents and promote unity and love for the game,” added Élodie Nakkach.
