The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has predicted that several regions in Morocco will record a heat wave ranging between 37 and 48 degrees, starting from Wednesday to next Friday.
The directorate said in a warning bulletin (red level) that the provinces of Fkih Ben salah, Beni Mellal, Chichaoua, Kalaat Sraghna, Rehamna, Marrakesh, Tata, Taroudant, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Assa Zag and Smara, Boujdour, Aousserd and Oued Eddahab are expected to record temperatures ranging between 45 and 48 degrees Wednesday and Thursday.
A heat wave between 42 and 45 degrees is anticipated to be recorded on the same days in the provinces of Jerada, Oujda Angad, Taourirt, Guercif, Moulay Yacoub, Sefrou, Fez, Boulemane, El Hajeb, Meknes, Taza, Taounate, Ouazzane, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane and Khenifra, in addition to Azilal, Khouribga, Settat, Essaouira, Youssoufia, Al Haouz, Errachidia, Zagora, Chtouka Ait Baha, Inezgane, Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Guelmim, Tan Tan and Sidi Ifni.
It is also expected that temperatures between 37 and 42 degrees will be recorded Wednesday and Thursday in Tetouan, Khemisset, Al Hoceima, Nador, Chefchaouen, Berkane, and Driouch.
Next Friday, Fkih Ben salah, Beni Mellal, Chichaoua, Youssoufia, Kalaat Sraghna, Rehamna, Marrakech, Khouribga, Settat, Essaouira, Tata, Taroudant, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Chtouka Ait Baha, Inezgane, Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Guelmim, Tantan, Sidi Ifni, Assa-Zag, Smara, Zagora, Boujdour, Awsard and Oued Eddahab will all record a heat wave between 43 and 46 degrees.
