Two Moroccan contestants were chosen on July 9 to go to the final round of the “K-Pop World Festival” music competition at the Théâtre Mohammed VI in Casablanca, which was hosted by the Korean Embassy in Morocco.
The winners of the final in Morocco will be entitled to take part in the preselection process for the grand finale, to be held next October in Changwon, South Korea.
Only eight pre-selected teams from around the world will take part in this final phase, said Consul and Head of the Cultural Section at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Morocco, Taehak Kim.
The contestants used every tool at their disposal to shine in presenting performances befitting the pros, while honoring this joyous genre in the air of age.
Fans of this contemporary music, who were well-served in return, were in large numbers, leading to a crowded house, to put it mildly. Young and old guests from all over the Kingdom attended this special occasion.
Everyone in the vast auditorium was dressed in red, the perfect frame of mind in which to enjoy the performance. The festival this year included a rich and varied program of songs, music, dance, cultural booths, and a number of activities meant to acquaint guests with Korean culture.
K-Pop is a genre of popular Korean music characterized by a wide variety of audiovisual elements and has become very popular among young people all over the world, including young Moroccans.
