Moroccan athlete Fatima Ezzahra El Idrissi snatched a gold medal in the 1500m (T12), setting a world record with a time of 4.22.15, at the World Para-Athletics Championships, held in Paris on July 8-17.
The Moroccan team harvested another two medals: a silver one by Mouncef Bouja (T12/100 m), and a bronze one by Oumaima Oubraym (F32/club throw).
This sports event brings together 1,700 athletes (with different disabilities) from 120 countries. Morocco is taking part in the Championships with 18 male and female athletes.
A major qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the track and field meet is held under the aegis of the World Para Athletics subcommittee of the International Paralympic Committee.
