Indra, a leading global technological engineering company for aerospace, defense and mobility sectors, announced recently the implementation of its advanced air traffic management system “ManagAir” in Morocco. This new-generation system will improve air traffic control in the country and promote regional sustainability, according to the firm’s press release.
ONDA, Morocco’s Airports Office chose Indra’s solution to position itself as a prominent player in air navigation operations.
ManagAir adoption improves ONDA’s air traffic management efficiency, aligning with Morocco’s sustainability goals, and facilitating coordination with other AEFMP member countries for smoother operations and seamless navigation.
ONDA’s director, Hicham Abdelaziz Moumni, expressed confidence in the new system, stating it will help meet the European Commission’s Single European Sky objectives for air navigation service providers’ technical competence.
Indra’s ATM business director Federico Rueda highlighted improvements in the ManagAir system, including a better user interface, secure access, and increased automation.
The transition to the ManagAir system will take place in two stages to ensure regulatory compliance. Indra, ONDA, EUROCONTROL, and the Moroccan Civil Aviation Authority are all involved in the process.
Indra’s ManagAir system is used extensively in Latin America, Europe, the Maghreb, Africa and Asia. It ensures reliability and adaptability for a wide range of air traffic management circumstances.
