Leoni, a German global provider of energy and data management solutions in the automotive sector, will build in Agadir an additional plant for wiring systems, specializing in the Commercial vehicles (CV) segment, and offering 3,000 new jobs.
The company intends to enlarge its 9 plants in the Casablanca-Settat region, to reach a total of 7,000 jobs by 2027.
This came in a ceremony chaired by Head of government Aziz Akhannouch, and marked by the signing of two memoranda of understanding and a framework agreement for the implementation of six investment projects planned by the automotive supplier Leoni.
The new plant will work on creating wire systems for the Commercial Vehicles segment, one of the company’s growing industries in the Wiring Systems Division.
COO and Member of the Executive Board of LEONI Ingo Spengler said: “Leoni will seize the opportunity to expand its footprint in the county, which provides favorable conditions in terms of availability of skilled workers, competitiveness, and logistics”.
Leoni provides cables and associated components to a number of truck and engine manufacturers, as well as the off-road industry, which includes agricultural, construction and industrial vehicles.
