The Abu Dhabi-based Masdar Energy firm, which invests notably in renewables and sustainable technology throughout the Middle East and has big ambitions in Africa and Central Asia, is gearing up for the launch of an industrial project for plastic waste recovery and processing, reported Atalayar in a news article.
The project cost is estimated at 100 Mln MAD to recycle plastic trash in Rabat region, generating 200 job opportunities, added the same source.
Masdar had been previously involved in producing green electricity independently or through partnerships in the same country. It was recognized for its involvement in the Noor Midelt I project, alongside French business EDF Renouvelables and Moroccan company Green of Africa.
Masdar recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with three African countries: Angola, Uganda, and Zambia, to establish renewable energy-generating projects.
