A partnership agreement and three memoranda of understanding were signed on Tuesday in Rabat during the 6th session of the Joint Commission between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman, co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi. These agreements focus on maritime, port, and rail transport sectors, along with general diplomacy and consumer protection matters.
The partnership agreement in maritime and port transport encourages economic and commercial relations, joint investment, and exchange of experience and knowledge.
Regarding diplomatic action, the Moroccan Academy for Diplomatic Studies and the Diplomatic Academy of Oman aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation by developing a framework for diplomatic training, exchange of experience, and information in international relations, diplomacy, foreign policy, and international law.
Concerning consumer protection, the accord aims to strengthen cooperation at the artistic, technical, legal, and public policy levels, and to raise consumer awareness, defend rights, and ensure high-quality products and services.
Another MOU was signed between the National Railways Office (ONCF) and Oman Rail aiming to strengthen cooperation and develop partnerships between the two parties. The sixth Moroccan-Omani joint commission minutes were signed, showcasing the cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.
The Sultanate of Oman reiterated its support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Moroccan autonomy initiative for resolving the regional Sahara dispute. It lauded the Moroccan leadership’s commitment to a compromise that promotes security and stability in the region.
