A Moroccan IS member claimed to be gay in a laughable attempt to avoid his deportation from Spain to Morocco, as reported by Spanish news website “Confidencial Digital”.
The Spanish judges turned down this “gayness” plea, explaining that, though homosexuality is illegal in Morocco, the suspect’s life will not be in danger and therefore his expulsion is imminent.
The culprit had uploaded videos on social media supporting terrorism and extremism. On his Facebook page, he had publicly declared that he is a staunch supporter of IS.
The fanatic was detained by the Guardia Civil agents, and sentenced to two years in jail. He was ordered to get deported to his home country on the grounds that he poses a threat to public order in Spain.
The expulsion order was approved on October 7, 2020. The individual was also sentenced to a ten-year entry ban to Spain. The homosexuality claim was a futile effort to stall the procedure.
